An integrated governance–admissions model for non-public schools at Thu Dau Mot Ward in the current context of educational competition

This paper develops an integrated governance–
admissions model for non-public schools in Thu Dau Mot
Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, in the current context of
educational competition. The study adopts an applied
research design based on a corpus of 16 carefully
selected sources, combining document analysis,
contextual comparison, and model synthesis. The
research gap lies in the fact that prior studies have
usually examined school governance, school choice, or
educational marketing separately, while the systemic
linkage between school governance and admissions
outcomes in the non-public sector has not been clearly
modelled. Accordingly, the paper proposes a five-pillar
model consisting of strategic positioning; educational
quality and differentiation; parent–student experience;
communication and admissions channels; and data
governance with continuous improvement. The study
contributes by integrating previously separated strands
of literature, shifting the unit of analysis from isolated
recruitment campaigns to the governance system of the
school, and attaching an evaluation indicator set to
support implementation and refinement.
