Clitoria ternatea L. belongs to Fabaceae, is native to Southeast Asia, and is
widely distributed. Currently, studies on the botany of the species are still limited.
Therefore, the study was carried out to provide more detailed morphological, anatomical,
and structural characteristics of the medicinal powder of Clitoria ternatea in Vietnam. The
research team aim at studying the morphological characteristics, microbiological
characteristics, and phytochemical composition of Clitoria ternatea in a botanical garden
of Hong Bang International University. The study on botanical characteristics was
performed by morphological and anatomical methods. Microscopic examination of
medicinal powders. Preliminary analysis of phytochemical composition by improved
Ciuley’s method. According to the results, the botanical characteristics of Clitoria ternatea
have been determined on the basis of the survey, and at the same time identified and
analyzed the anatomical characteristics of the parts of the plant. The study of botanical
characteristics has provided a detailed and clear illustration of the external and internal
structure of Clitoria ternatea for Vietnamese plants.
