Abstract

This article analyzes the current state and policy orientations for digital
transformation in the field of Business Administration in Vietnam, in the context of a global
economy increasingly driven by digital platforms. Based on theoretical foundations and
international experiences, the author argues that digital transformation is not merely a
technological trend but a comprehensive restructuring of how businesses operate, manage,
and create value. However, Vietnamese enterprises - especially small and medium-sized
enterprises (SMEs) - are facing numerous barriers, such as a shortage of digital human
resources, high investment costs, underdeveloped technological infrastructure, and an
unclear legal framework. On the basis of empirical findings, the study formulates policy
implications aimed at steering digital transformation toward enhanced effectiveness and
long-term sustainability. The article underscores the enabling role of the government in
mobilizing resources, coordinating strategic directions, and ensuring equitable access to
digital transformation across all types of businesses. On this basis, the article aims to
contribute to academic discussions and policy planning for digital economic development
in Vietnam over the coming decade.
