Factors influencing students’ choice of academic majors in Ca Mau

Abstract

This study investigates the factors influencing the choice of major among students at two secondary schools in Cà Mau province. The findings identified three groups of factors affecting high school students' major selection at Tan Loc Secondary-High School and Ly Van Lam Secondary-High School in 2024. These factors include Personal factors, Environmental factors, and social benefits. The study also analyzes the influence of each factor on students' choice of major, providing insights for parents and students to make more informed decisions regarding career selection. Furthermore, the study offers recommendations for colleges and universities to improve their admissions strategies in Cà Mau and other provinces.
